Hanging in there!

Image
Heard back from the Acupuncture Herbalist and I have an appt on Feb 4!!! Inner legs still tender, but I think the Cosentyx and reduced dose of acitretin are doing their thing as I am no longer suffering from the white hot pain the way I was, I still have major discomfort but nothing like before, skin super tight around the knees, thighs and ankles. Laying low as to not agitate legs Starting a low inflammation diet on Monday, to try to improve legs Also last night one of my plastic booties slipped half way off, bot oh boy, that ankle and 1/2 foot were so dry and peeling! Pics under pain diagram, not for the faint of heart This is how my arms look after sleeping, as you can see the wrap (stretch tite) has shrunk down past elbow and exposed skin which causes dryness (ointment rubbed off on long sleeve T) and discomfort As mentioned above here is a visual of the tightness on the knees  Inner thigh inflammation and tenderness  The wrap prevents the sk

Happy Sunday

Inner legs still tender, but I think the Cosentyx and reduced dose of acitretin are doing their thing as I am no longer suffering from the white hot pain the way I was, I still have major discomfort but nothing like before- Hands are cracking so I need to keep gloves on 24x7, same with feet, plastic booties under the socks- of course slathered in ointment . . . Met a friend for lunch yesterday and then had to pick up a prescription and then laid on the couch for the rest for the day as I was just so tired Waiting to hear back from a Chinese herbalist who can hopefully help with fatigue and pain via herbs, more to come on that when I hear-

A bit sore this AM~

Image
I woke up with a bit of pain, but more tenderness/soreness than anything. I think it has to do with the fact that at 2am when I woke up to use the RR I didn't apply ointment. OK lesson learned; apply ointment in the middle of the night to avoid skin tenderness/soreness in the AM I am hoping that I start to go into remission, so my eyelashes and eyebrows can get full again. Also so I can stop applying Vaseline all over my face to trap any shedding- I have also started taking Collagen Peptides, to hopefully help my skin heal further- Looking forward to kicking PRP out of my BODY!!

Another night and morning with no increase in pain!

Image
While I am still very happy that my pain is not escalating, I am still awaiting for the horrible PRP will start to retreat, I suppose that the reduction in pain is the first step to retreat. Some things to note: It is easier to put on socks, but, still very difficult, as something as simple as bending over is quite the task Still having to apply ointment EVERYWHERE in order to prevent skin cracking and bleeding Inner thighs still tender and need ointment 3x a day Feet still need to be wrapped in plastic to prevent cracking Arms need to be wrapped in order to maintain moisture and mobility Face still requires ointment in order to prevent shedding and cracking Eyelashes are very thin Eyebrows have become very thin as well  Pain is lessening but areas are still tender and affected ~ circled areas are the most concerning

Pain still at bay, but shedding is not : )

Image
So the pain is not as bad as it has been before Costentyx, lots of shedding, so having to apply LOTS of ointments. Lots of skin flakes, so Im sure Ill be a bit fatigued as my body needs to replace all of that skin- Hopefully I will continue to get better and hopefully day by day, the pain and shedding lessens! So far so good. Pain is still there but nowhere near what is was like as of the 17th of January, since Christmas Eve!

Progress ! !

Image
So again woke up with no White Hot Pain from my legs when I got out of bed. I did however have alot of shedding, but that is more of a nuisance compared to the pain. I'm hopeful that this relief is from the Cosentyx and I also hope that I continue to see improvements of this condition. Other things that I am doing is making sure that I avoid any types of stress or anything that causes anxiety, I am making all my own healthy meals and also using guided healing meditation that is helping me to maintain calmness and a healing mindset. I use this one on YouTube by Rasa , she has such a calming voice and its only 30 minutes I use it often! Here is a pic where I was Face-timing with my cousins Sandee and Christy. Im still really red and scaly but keeping my chin up and hoping for the best! And of course this little guy (Magoo) is keeping me strong and optimistic : )

Outing today!

Image
This post is all about my outing today and will have nothing to do with PRP (ok maybe a bit)!  My very great friends Adam and Cory took me out to lunch today. We were supposed to take our ///M cars pictured below, but I was very sore and could not drive. So Adam took us in his M3 to Point Richmond to such an out of the way spot, but so well worth it!!! We ended up at Nobilis  which is a little hole in the wall restaurant in a picturesque little area in the bay that you never imagine is there. We ate burgers and had a few beers (yes I still partake!) and although it was cold we enjoyed ourselves and had a great time. I was surprised I was able to manage without much pain, however, I was a bit fatigued, but I was happy I was with good friends that I love and that I know have my back. We came back to Oakland and spent some time at my home and Adam took a lovely pic of our ///M cars. I look forward to the days where I can take my car out and drive the fuck out of it, like I used to with my

New Drug: Costentyx!

Image
I am hopeful that Cosentyx will help me get more clear of PRP- had an appointment today and was put on this drug. I did not know I had to inject myself, so I psyched myself out in order to do it not once but twice!! Dosage is 300mgs but each sensopen is 150 mgs!!! It was fine and lets hope the for the best! Ill have to do this 1x per week for 5 weeks then 1x per month after that. I hope to start to see clearing soon!

Leg pain less!!

Image
Well leg pain is  much better  today, and arms are tolerable- YAY! Woke up today and legs were not shedding as much as they were, arms are still sensitive and I have to keep them wrapped but, not as uncomfortable as they have been in past days- T/hank goodness because I have to go to Kaiser for blood work, before my appt tomorrow Fri Jan 17th

Ouch and Ouch (some photos graphic)

Image
Well leg pain is worse today, but arms are tolerable- Arm skin is really tight hence pain but tolerable (notice all the hair is gone)- I hope legs get better so I can walk without pain-

Hopefully Some Relief

Image
I emailed my Dr. yesterday letting her know of the pain I was in and I received a message back to reduce the dosage of the Acitrtetin from 50 mgs a day to 25 mgs a day. That drug does have the ability to make the skin very tight which it is actually doing to me, so as of today ill update my dosage. For Pain management  I was told to take 600mg of ibu and 625 of Tylenol, I will also adjust the dosage there are well to see how I fare. I was able to sleep last night and I only got up 1x, I ended up taking Nyquil as I felt like I was catching a cold, so I think that helped me sleep- Legs still in alot of pain, butt cheeks too, and arms-

I think I have Plateaued

Image
Not sure what is happening but I think I have plateaued, I don't think the pain could get worse, nor go away completely as of this am. Typically, I wake up clean up and apply ointments and the pain subsides, but today and yesterday it persisted. I am glad I have a Dr. Appt Friday to get the Cosentyx, to see if that can give me some relief- Pain Points: Inner thighs from knee up Back of legs from knee up to butt cheeks (going to try to wrap knees to see if that provides relief) Inner elbow up to arm pit  (easier to control as I wrap stretch tite) Elbow up to back of arm pit * just a note of caution, while I strive to maintain decorum, there may be images and language that is of adult nature *

White Hot Discomfort

Image
So last night was as uncomfortable as it gets. Lots of white hot pain on the backs of legs, from knee to butt cheeks, as well as inner elbow to armpit. Woke up a few time to apply ointments, but really didn't help much. The only thing I could do was lay still and not move in order not to cause any pain. I am looking forward to this acute stage to get under control and stabilize. Still taking Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen to manage the pain, today is all about managing pain so I won't be getting much done : ) * just a note of caution, while I strive to maintain decorum, there may be images and language that is of adult nature *

Sleepless in Oakland!

Image
Well last 2 nights were hard to get to sleep. Arms, Elbows, Knees and back of knees are white hot in pain when moving around in bed. Got up a few times to apply ointments to get to a state of comfort. Still sleeping with feet elevated to avoid swollen knees and ankles. I guess when I did manage to sleep I scratched an enlarged mole and it bled a bit [Ugh]- I'm hoping that my mobility today improves and the leg pain and arm pain subsides-  .     * just a note of caution, while I strive to maintain decorum, there may be images and language that is of adult nature *

Did someone say Parm?

Image
Well I'll just day it, I smell like Parmesean Cheese! So nasty and yet kinda yummy at the same time. But not for a body aroma, more for Garlic bread or something. Lots of acute pain last night, got up a few times to use the RR and then had to change as my sleeping clothes + dead skin was chaffing my inner legs, after I changed i slept better, but the ODOR of parm kept persisting, Ill be showering today (even though showering is very difficult and sometimes painful, baths are actually better) I gotta do it to get clean, I know I'll be sore for a few hours but I have to get this ODOR gone! Taking an alleve to offset pain : ) Have a lovely day and the next time you ask for shaved parm on pasta. . . . . . think of me . : ) Acute areas noted in darker red Also had a lovely visit from Adam and Cory last night we ordered Ono Hawaiian BBQ from DoorDash (of course) So nice to spend time with these guys! I look horribly crazy,  but feel pretty ok : ) * just a note o

Hunka hunka burning!!!! Woweeeeee!!!!

Image
Wow there was alot of burning happening last night and not the kind I like! Backs of legs were white hot on fire! Changed 3x to get into something comfortable, clothing just irritated the skin, so I settle for a super large pair of sweat shorts, phew! Diagram shows concentration of pain and scaling and itchiness. Other than this I feel fine, but I can't imagine getting up, showering, applying ointment, getting dressed, driving to the ferry, taking the ferry ride, walking to the office, working for 8 hours the repeat on the way back and that would not even account for applying ointments mid day etc. Too much to even think about especially waking up with burning legs! WHEW!!!! I await stabilization! Aside from the backs of legs the front and back elbows are pretty raw and burning today so I'll have to manage that- Face woke up puffy and scaly with lots of eye goop. Had to wrap arms and calves to make sure ointment stays on skin, back of legs unable to be wrapped as gravity pu

One thing about PRP, it's constantly changing, something new daily!!

Image
Leg pain back, again but this time I had to apply ointment in the middle of the night as I was super uncomfortable. Also front torso @ belly button starting to get irritated - Inner thighs and back of knees pretty sore and irritated, inner elbows and elbows as well. Buttocks very sore to be seated so I have to stand . Slept with full gloves to see if that would help my cracking fingers, it did thank goodness Also read about a drug trail with Cosentyx, asked Dr. about it and I may bet that drug to see if I can advance the cure of this PRP Shit, more to come . . .  * just a note of caution, while I strive to maintain decorum, there may be images and language that is of adult nature *

New Format to show what is hurting

Image
I changed formatting here to better illustrate how this PRP is progressing Leg pain back, but not as severe, inner elbow and outer elbow pain still persisting but not as acute and my arms did not look like sandpaper this am, and my legs had minimal shedding- I tried to not wrap my feet last night …….. not a great idea, they dried out and started cracking, so at around 11pm I had to get up, slather them with aquaphor, put on the plastic booties and then socks in order to have some comfort. Fingertips are quite the site, as they are very wrinkly and dry, no pain, but the skin is very thin, things fall out of my hands if not gripped properly- Heat/cold regulation still VERY off, I’m either cold or having a hot flash, I think I have also stopped sweating which is causing the hot flashes, so I have to make sure I take it easy. * just a note of caution, while I strive to maintain decorum, there may be images and language that is of adult nature *

Skin Skin and More Skin, still going~

Image
Well the leg pain has lessened and has now moved to the inner and outer elbow, way easier to manage albeit still painful, this area of skin is easier to reach and easier to maintain. Arms very scaly and irritated, probably needed to apply ointment to arms in the middle of the night but was too tired to do so, I actually did that first thing int he AM, here is the pile of skin that came off the arms (last photo). Lots of skin!!! * just a note of caution, while I strive to maintain decorum, there may be images and language that is of adult nature *
